When will the 2012 LEGO Robotics Camp be held?
We haven't set dates for the 2012 program yet.

Where does LEGO Robotics Camp take place?
All activities run rain or shine in the Robotics Room at the North Brunswick Township High School, conveniently located on Raider Road and Route 130 in North Brunswick, NJ. Here's a map and directions.

Is Camp participation restricted to North Brunswick Township students?
No! Any student entering grades 6 through 9 in the fall of 2012 may participate. However, participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from NBTHS and so may find it convenient to reside nearby.

Why is participation limited?
We want to be certain that everyone has a great time and ample opportunity to become fully engaged in the day's activities, without crowding or waiting.

Do you provide lunch?
No, but participants may bring a snack/drink if they wish.

What about adults? Is the Camp supervised?
Yes! Adults are present at all times to oversee all activities.

LEGO? That's 'kid stuff', isn't it?
No! Each day we present a new challenge - and the know-how to solve it - using the LEGO platform. Participants gain experience in problem analysis, planning, building, programming and more. We limit participation to students entering grades 6 through 9 because we've learned that's the 'sweet spot' for the kinds of challenges we use, neither too difficult nor too easy.

Robots? That's 'guy stuff', isn't it?
Absolutely not! Women have come to be recognized as valuable contributors in the science and engineering fields. Our team has excellent representation by the girls. Usually, at least some our student volunteers running the LEGO Camp program are female. So if you're apprehensive about sending your daughter to an all-male activity, well, simply put, that's not the case at all.

Exactly how is the Camp associated with Raider Robotix - FIRST Team 25?
The LEGO Camp program is created and conducted by volunteer members of Team 25, who create and guide the specific activities and challenges for each day. (There's always adult supervision, of course, but this is 100% the Team's show.) The Camp is one of the many fundraising activities that Team 25 undertakes to offset their expenses throughout the academic year. In addition, the program provides team exposure to kids that, upon reaching high school, may elect to join the robotics team. (It happens more often than you think!)
